Hey, love Shot in the Dark ... been there a few times and it's really good. Good food and good coffee. I love the way that it's like a coffee shop but also a bar! It's like something you'd find on the continent. There should be more places like Shot in the Dark!

After hearing about Shot In The Dark from a friend i thought I'd try it out as the reviews on this page were really promising. After spending almost 3 hours in there with a friend, it definitely lived up to my expectations. The food was fab and the staff were really attentive; always making sure tables were clean and delivering food really quickly. Not to mention the great atmosphere and amazing drinks on offer. I'll definitely be going again...

It's so chilled out they might as well have flat-beds instead of sofas. Staff are always smiley even when it's extremely busy and seem to genuinely enjoy serving the customers. It's refreshing to see somewhere in Cardiff (especially on City Road) that offers something so different and widely appealing yet not overdone.

Interesting decor and theme that is quite different than Starbucks. Service is variable, but coffees are generally good. It is a decent place to 'hang out' if you are into the whole idea of relaxing over a cuppa.

I used to study in Cardiff and it was great to pop to "Shot in the Dark" to relax! The food is incredible, I can recommend the artichoke hearts and carrot cake though not at the same time!! It's a great place for relaxing or for a precursor for a night out in Cardiff at say Toucan or Journeys. Now I've left Cardiff and it's the thing I miss most about it!

Love the atmosphere and the staff are friendly and chilled, recommend long afternoon mid winter, hot tea, big slice of cake and a good friend to wile away the hours, perfect! Have to agree with that sofa comment too!! It really is dreamy!

Well, a nice and cosy place, ideal to go with the new GF (or BF), since it is very romantic with loads of candles. Friendly atmosphere ... however the barman is not that good looking! :P ... and the spanish waitress quit a long time ago! :) It reminds me somewhat of the "Central Perk" in "Friends"! ;) A place you have to visit!

It's the most romantic place in Cardiff, candles, good music, delicious snacks...the only problem is that you can easily fall in love with the handsome barman (for girls), or with the sweet Spanish girl that was serving who was trying to learn Greek:))(for boys) And something else...this sofa in front of the glass facade...I wish I was there...

A great place for coffee, possibly one of the top 3-4 in cardiff. I have to say though that this year it has been extremely busy, particularly on Fri/Sat/Sun and I think they don't pay too much attention to customers and to detail as they used to. Having said that, it still is a place worth going.

A nice place for a relaxing coffee or light meal with your friends. Lots of room to sit, interesting but not intrusive decor, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very nice and the food is tasty and usually brought to your table very quickly. It is a bit pricey (about £2 for a large cup of coffee) but not exorbitant.
